I noticed on some very new LED lights here they are not even listing the wattage equivalent anymore.  They only list the lumens.

Decided that as I wind down from my wedding stuff - only 5 to do now and stopped taking bookings - I`d start entering the odd competition. As you know I am partial to food shots so saw an M&S comp on facebook that asked people to make their own Japanese steak with wasabi peas / wasabi kewpie mayonnaise with tempura vegetables and pak choi. Great I thought - fancy something new I`ll make that and enter. M& S don`t stock wasabi peas /kewpie  mayonnaise or Hibachi sauce. I can pay £6.50 for a little jar of the mayonnaise from Harvey Nichols but I ask you. I told M&S it seemed a little daft to run a food comp using ingredients you had to buy from their competitors and they said they`d tell marketing!!!

Anyway - managed an entry. I used Helmans with wasabi paste in it (Waitrose), crushed green Japanese nuts to fake the wasabi peas and my own recipe Hibachi sauce that was the same colour  ;). I`m guessing I`ll not win as I just didn`t have anything cool and trendy enough t style it with  but I did enjoy my tea. My wife thought it mean as she is eating mushroom soup on one of these starve day diets.

What mildly irritated me today actually. Opera's new start screen - new and improved with Windows 8 type tiles that contain about 90% less information about the sites they refer to compared with the old start screen. I'm sticking with the old screen.

Photobox annoyed me again today. Don`t know what has happened with their systems lately. Complaints re: last book worked out well but having sold £50 of prints from my last wedding I asked that they transfer  it to my paypal account. 6 weeks later I make my 5th and strongest  request stating I`ll be deleting my account if I don`t get my money due within 24 hours. I get an apology and then 5 minutes later an email from Paypal stating they`d transferred the money they claim was done 6 weeks ago!!!! They`re lucky I have a free book and another £40 in credit standing from their last fiasco. I didn`t know they printed their books in France - merged with a French company as well as being Moonpig too. Says it all!

The first time I tried to used photobox it nearly made me cry. I've never been back!

It`s been great for me until these last couple of months - something has changed though.

Can't say I've ever had any issues with them. But I only occasionally get a few poster prints for my wall.

 >:( >:( >:(Grrrr! What`s happening this week. Jut days after ordering £33 worth of replacement ink for my printer that is supposedly en route my printer goes faulty. After cleaning heads and doing all sorts of tips recommended online it narrows down to being a faulty head that will cost £60 for the part + labour to repair. Can get a new one with built in scanner for £59 so a trip to PC world as I need it urgently for wedding output.

Anyone care to make me an offer for 2 sets of replacement ink + another dozen or so black  packs that fit a Canon ip4850/MG5150/MG5250/MG6150/MG8150 ?
All supplied through 999 inks and have worked really well with my printer for some 3 years plus now.

Canon print heads can generally be restored to life. Get some 95% alcohol and some kitchen towel. Soak the towel in alcohol, remove the inks then the head. Place the head, nozzle side down on the paper overnight. This will clean all the gunk out and *usually* you will find that after you have dried it and put the thing back together again it will work. I've done this with a 4000, 4200 and 7250, and it's worked with all of them.

I`m keeping it to have a go at that but already bought a replacement with a scanner that I`d missed having. When I have the luxury of time I`ll try and do what you say but I find it hard to get to the sponge bit that supposedly would need cleaning too.

Hinfrance

The sponge is the killer - never managed to clean one of those. It seems that for all intents and purposes that is the component that limits the life of the printer.

We're going to have to get a new printer soon too - Mrs H uses a Canon MP250 for her teaching work, but lately it's decided to not bother printing at all more than half of the time, or it says it is offline and then prints anyway. I think the driver is up the swanee.

Officials at todays match were  the worst ever. Chelsea players are a bunch of overpaid thugs. Apart from that the trains were not running because of engineering work and the motorway was up the swanee with bridge repair work. Not amused, returned home late , missed most of strictly and the wine bought by the missis was not up to standard. Yes, we lost too.
I'm going to bed.

Blimey, have you only just come to that conclusion? :o Managed by a most repulsive little anal orifice.
