Why oh why do I always get the broken one?????

In know the feeling - last week I took delivery of a new bass guitar. A beautiful, and for my budget, expensive thing. The only trouble was that there was almost no output from the electronics - it's on it's way back to Germany now, for a refund - fingers crossed.

Tickles me how the Solar panel calls get fewer and fewer during the Summer months before building up again on the cold overcast Wintery days  ::)  We never have spare money at Christmas :2funny:

When I first retired  and was at a loose end, whenever I was cold called for any product I used to greet them like long lost friends. I used to enthusiastically agree to buy whatever they were selling after explaining that because I had so many county court judgements against me I was having great difficulty getting credit ,but would happily purchase whatever they were selling if they could help me to overcome the financial hurdles. For some reason it tended to kill the conversation stone dead. :(

Got up too late to enjoy my bike ride. >:(

I say got up too late, I had a list of things to do that I had not allowed for, and by the time I'd finished it was close to 11am.

I need to be out of the house by 9 in time to reach the various refreshment spots along the route, and the ferry across the Deben Estuary.

As much as I love Suffolk, it can be a bit sparse in places and you HAVE to adhere to conditions Suffolk gives you to visit with - especially eateries...

Will try again tomorrow

Has the thread gone on the screw its self, or within / on the body part ?

Some screws are designed as captive screws - ie. to stay attached to the part so they do not get lost. Then its a matter of the sequence to attaching or lining up in the assembly process.

Yes, but the lack of light makes it difficult to focus on Swifts and Swallows due to poor contrast.  >:(

5 out of 6 calls with clietn resulted in 5 being abusive and screaming at me. I DONT GET PAID ENOUGH

Not wishing to teach granny how to suck eggs, but when dealing with screamers the best thing is to let them exhaust their rage before you even try to speak to them. Yes, I used to have to deal with screamers. I even had one chap trash my office during a meeting to discuss his grievance. Some people seem to think aggression will get them what they want, but it certainly doesn't help their cause.

Most people don't get paid what they think they're worth. Some people, however, get paid a whole lot more than they deserve. Perhaps you should become a famous actress or footballer ;) Or just chill in the Canaries for a while with a nice red.

Also, they're not your clients, but the government's. Don't take it as a personal assault; they're screaming at Dave, not at you.

It's a different matter of course, if they come to your office and trash it, like H had to cope with.

Try to imagine yourself in a bubble, with them on the outside, screaming and ranting; you can hear them, but they can't touch you; you're safe in your bubble. Deal with them from that safety, and you'll be much less stressed.

Got this advice once, and I tried it (once) and it seemed to work.

Is your employer putting you in an awkward position without sufficient or adequate support for any changing criterea to the customer comes first approach?

I hope your wee holiday away from it all helps.

You probably don't get paid enough full stop!

As for the screamers - well I always let them scream away with the phone/ headset removed from my ear, just listening for the ambient noise.
When they stop, you can point out you are not aloud to carry on with conversation under those terms, and if they start again, you just hang up and make a note to that effect in the call log software.

Then, you go and take a 5 minute break whilst you recover before taking the next call after 3 of these types of call in succession. What can your supervisor say?
Sod employee welfare?

I never get angry, shout or anything when I call any one. Though I was amused to be listed as a bad person by Lenovo because I pointed out their warranty procedure was in breach of the UK Sales of Goods Act - there after all calls were replied to on the basis that I was a trouble maker so insisting on my rights.

Enjoy your holiday, and forget about work :-)
