........reading today that failed asylum seekers (illegal immigrants!), students et al who have HIV can be treated free of charge in this country by the NHS at a time when the NHS appears to be in meltdown and citizens of this country are not able to get the drugs, treatment etc for their own ailments despite having paid into the system for years!!!!!!!!!!  You couldn't make it up!!  Over and out.

You know the government basically decided to do this for economic reasons, right?  Their bean counters figured out it was cheaper to provide free drugs for all HIV sufferers than allow it to spread further and then have to buy them for a larger number.  Scotland and Wales figured this out a while ago.

But the red tops have never been known for letting facts get in the way.

We have a nutter a few hours' drive from here who has been using a machine pistol first on paratroopers who have served in Afghanistan, and now this morning on school children.

Only my opinion but I do not like the add in the middle of the page. I hate any sort of commercialism being thrust upon me which is one of the reasons I like this site. But I am sure from Micks point of view it is generating much needed revenue to keep the site going with help from the company that Jonathan is promoting. Anyway that's only my opinion but as a compromise we could have  'Image of the week' Sponsored by ' StrobeBeam' or anyone else that maybe interested.

I miss IOTW    I know there have been a few technical problems but the site to me looks much better with a ' Headline Image' on the front page.

Dave, I can understand your feelings, but be assured to add is not permanent.  Just giving Jonathan's Strobeam course a nudge.  If it generates any funds along the way, then that helps with the running of the site.  Believe it or not, I hate adds as well to be honest.

Image of the week will return very soon, in fact I was hoping for the release of the final version of the portal addon last week, but we keep finding bugs.  Sorted and testing again now.  Next couple of days and it should get the green light.

Ha! It'll never happen here; the beer fridge died before Christmas and hasn't been replaced. Now the beer lives next to the hamsters (don't ask).

The A/C has packed up in the family car. Hopefully only needs the gas topping up. Fan works, and it has a new filter. Everything is crossed, just in case.

And the engine check light on the Corvette came on and won't go out. And I can't find anything wrong with it. Now I'll have to dig the OBD reader and see if it tells me anything useful.

And the lawn needs cutting . .  and I'm hot . . and . .  I'll shut up now.
