WAMT: found a large wasps nest under the eaves, with the little bastards coming into the son's room. I managed to kill off ~15 last night in his room alone.

Exterminator called in, but yet another sodding thing to have to deal with.

H.

PS. I've heard they make lousy pets, so we shan't be keeping them.

I have heard that ant powder will do them some damage if you can get near enough.

Had one years ago. Used a smoke tablet and blocked up their entrance, problem solved.

Hugh, I found a nest under the eaves today too - and I think the little beggars are building one in the umbrella that sits over the patio table - the latter has been folded down for a few weeks.

First things first - the nest under the eaves is going to get it tonight. All the supermarkets and DIY stores sell nest destroying insecticide, with between 3 and 6 metre ranges. I'm a cheapskate and I've got a ladder, so I bought the 3 metre one because it's cheaper.

Picture above taken at 300mm and inverted- bit of motion blur from the waspies or maybe my nerves, as I am allergic to wasp stings . .

I was re-roofing my Dad's shed a few weeks ago, I had to wedge myself between the shed and a fence to tack some felt on.
Felt something tickeling my legs (I was wearing shorts.), looked down...I had trod on a wasps nest and they were all buzzing around my legs.
By the time I got from between the shed and fence I had twenty seven stings, still have the scars and they still itch.
Fortunatly I don't appear to have an allergy.

Graham I reckon 27 stings would kill me. I got one sting about ten days ago - my whole arm went numb and was painful to move for the four following days. The lump on my arm is still the size of a 5p piece. Luckily I don't go into shock, but they swell to the size of small plates and bl**dy hurt for a long time. When I was a child I was hospitalised after a sting. I was too young to know what they did to fix it, but it must have worked.

They're getting a bit listless now - I'm going to nuke 'em in about half an hour.

WAMT? Those penalty-conceding fumble monkeys AKA England in the 1st half of the World Cup against Argentina!  :wtf:

Edit: They must've read the above (the power of the written word!  ;D) as they pulled a not entirely deserved win out of the 2nd half
Whatever and ever. Amen

WAMT? ME! I haven't been monitoring my blood sugars lately, today I can barely see the screen here. Checked and sugars are very high.  :-[ On the up side, blood pressure is good. :)

Hope you're back to normal soon Spin.

WAMT - second puncture in three days on my bike. The first required a new inner tube, the second I managed to patch the tube, but the tire wall has blown out; so I need a new tyre now.

This is on my new bike. My old bike I have had for two decades and never had a puncture - so I'm guessing that the new lightweight technology is lighter because it's not very robust.
