Raw files in Elements 11

My habit is to shoot RAW and JPG. Opening the Elements editor automatically imports any new files - and of course shows two identical pictures of each photo (RAW and JPG) in the preview. When I edit the RAW file, it creates a small "sidecar" file which is visible in the relevant Windows folder, and if the RAW file is re-opened the settings are preserved - all as already said above.

BUT (and it might be a bug which has been corrected in V11) if I later delete the original JPG file from within the organiser, the sidecar file is also deleted and so the settings for the corresponding RAW image are lost.

It's not really a problem for me as I understand what's going on, but it might confuse a new user if shooting RAW and JPG.

I keep most of my raw files - now have a 1TB and 1.5TB drives inside my desktop for data only, which are backed up to corresponding Qnap NAS drives on a Gb lan. I have about 400Gb remaining at the moment.

Have done a lot of work with E11 today. Amazing what really quick basic edits can achieve.  Mrs Loveclose had to accompany a school trip to Hampton Court and she took her D60 with her.

A set of pics in one of the music rooms came out very dark due to poor lighting - really quick fix made all the pics useable.

Happy days :)
