Got a 1tb Seagate GoFlex drive for £54.99 from Maplins yesterday, started backing up my Hard Drive at about 9am this morning and it's only 50% done but it is backing up LOADS of SONY RAW files so I'm not to bothered at the moment reckon it will still be backing up at 6am tomorrow at this rate though (only got it connected through USB2 which is why it's taking so long couldn't afford the firewire cable as well)
That and discovering the car may finally be fixed, getting bubbles in the clutch fluid reservoir when we pump the clutch pedal but spoke to our garage earlier and he reckons it's ok he's going to service it tomorrow and throw in bleeding the system under pressure to just check it out for us...he reckons it should be ok and worse case scenario is the master cylinder needs replacing which if it does it does.....

Anybody recognise them?  One is easy but I bet there are a couple of guitar fans who can name the other one.....

First person that came to mind when I saw this was, Phil Lynott ( Thin Lizzy).  One of my favourite bands to be honest.

Mick, your skeleton joke on the other site. Priceless! :2funny:

Alan, glad you liked that one.  I really did laugh out loud when I typed it.  :D

The party went pretty well.

Graham, we waited and waited for you to show, but finally gave up and opened the fizz at 7:01.

Irv, my friend's 8 year old daughter told me 'your dancing is funny'  , so I guess I have a 'Dad Dancing' diploma.

Hangover has gone and everything is tidied up  :'(

Hope it's somewhere on youtube H ;D

TBH I wasn't sure who he was until yesterday.  Chap called Larry Graham.  He used to be in a popular beat combo by the name of Sly and the Family Stone.....  Most people reckon he invented slapping bass guitars - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Graham

Here's what he was doing earlier in the evening.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GE2r56N8ot0  It's worth remembering he's 65.

Here's what he was up to.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0Wzh7-uDNY I was about row 10 of 50 thousand people and could feel all of the bass slap.

Bloody Hell Jonathan what was he doing in Canterbury  :o :o . He really is a legend with some of the guys I hung about with in my younger days!
Oops just watched the vid!

OMG! I should have guessed. He was the bassist, singer and songwriter for Sly & The Family Stone then started his own group Graham Central Station. I have a cd with some of his songs on it as well as a Sly & The Family Stone cd. :)

The funny thing is I was just reading an article about Sly Stone playing somewhere last week. I thought he was dead. LOL

Yeah the first link is a solo from his performance with Graham Central Station.  TBH aging bass player with a 60 minute set - I wasn't expecting much.  But if Prince hadn't turned up he would have been the highlight of the festival (and people who went all 3 days for Eagles, Morissey, Bryan Ferry etc agree)..

Actually Aloe Blacc were pretty amazing too.  Their album stuff is fine but in performance they were very good indeed.
It's Guest's round

Used a friends back garden earlier today to put up our new tent (well it's 2nd hand but new to us) and I had it all set up in 40 minutes not bad for a tent I'd never put up before.....and it's cracking couple of tiny pinprick holes here and there but it wasn't sold as "MINT" so no problem there....and at least I know how to put it up for this weekend, we and a load of friends are off to the Americana festival in Newark Notts and can' t wait a weekend of American Muscle Cars and Bikes some REALLY excellent bands and some great friends although the weather ain't looking so good but we can't do anything about that should be a good weekend and we're really looking forward to it......that and at last and after about £700.00 our 4x4 is finally sorted....me and a mate changed the clutch hose assembly at the weekend, think I posted already that there was some air still in the reservoir got it serviced earlier and they blasted fluid through it under air hose pressure....no bubbles so it is finally sorted which has pleased the wife she's happy which means obviously I'm happy......roll on the weekend and hopefully sorting out a job asap....fingers crossed.....

I noticed that Mike Harding's "People" had used my pics on his website (With my permision.) but not credited them to me as requested.
A quick email, and by the time I had to go back and check, the credit was there, AND it was a "clicky" link to the GigPics corner of my Flickr pages.
      See Here. ;)

Got back from the Americana Festival 2011 yesterday, we had an absolutely fantastic weekend, despite a torrential downpour and high winds on friday when we arrived (snapped two tent poles due to the wind blowing the tent over when I was setting up between the rain but managed to get replacements) the rest of the weekend was spent in bright glorious sunshine, had a great time drooling at the American cars that were on display so much so I forgot to take photos half the time, have posted some piccys in the gallery....and had a telephone interview earlier today for a long term temp position and they want to see me for a face to face interview on thursday so fingers crossed for that, I also have an interview on Weds for a permanent position, hopefully I'll get one of them......so had a great weekend and back to jobhunting now.....

Watched my 16yr old son play cricket for south west Lancashire at St Annes CC today in a three day festival where the winning team in the group plays the other group winners in a final at Old Trafford. They won the first game,(he got two wickets) so one down two to go. Play game two tomorrow at Leigh CC near Wigan and then game three on Wednesday at Wigan CC. Heres hoping for a day out at Old Trafford cricket ground in August.
