Just had a great day out in Birmingham. (Yes it can be done.)
There's quite a lot of building development going on, but it all seems to be being done tastfully and with a bit of foward thinking.
Walked 6 and a bit miles along the canal, which in it's self is a fantastic development.
Also, the locals don't seem to mind when you laugh out loud at their frankly bizzar accents! (Sorry Oldboy).
My judgment may be impared my the fact that it was a glorious day. (I went once when it was wet and miserable and thought it was a dump!)
I sugest that if you get the chance, go and have a look around. It's really not as some would have you believe.

Glad you enjoyed your day out in Brum. If you had visited the Canals thirty years or so ago, you would never have gone back. The city planners have done well with the canals around Broad Street area making them a great leisure feature, on Friday/Saturday nights it's packed around there with lots of bars and eating places. They are doing the same thing with the Eastside now around Digbeth include a eight acre park.

The Brummie accent sounds even stranger when it's spoken by Asian in full garb!  :o

Fantastic shoot among the bluebells.  I really love bluebell woods.  Ideally I'd hit them at dawn for the smell.  But the rest of the team were all asleep then :(

http://peoplebyryan.com/photoblog/among-the-bluebells - check out the video at the bottom to see how many bluebells there were....

I was out photographing Bluebells today as well.  ;D

Cracking shot as always.

Went up to Brum both on Monday and Friday unfortunately didn't get to see any of the city other than the burger king and costa in the Bullring, was up there on Mon interviewing staff for a new site we have in that part of town and Fri was up there to pick up and bring back a couple of London staff....hopefully may be going back up there in a couple of weeks and if I get an overnight stay then will make a point of exploring a bit (maybe I'll pm OB and try and meet up  ;))

An extra day off tomorrow

I'm working.  :(  The joys of self employment.  ::)

I'm taking my camera though (yes I found it)  just in case the RAF fly past comes over my workplace.   Not sure if it will, but it does every year for the Queens Birthday.

I am at my shop. No one about but a great chance to reorganize things and tidy up plus I have to photograph my Canon 1D Mk11 which will be on e.bay tonight.
No RAF round here today but there could be a chance of a Pigeon fly past later.

Sad day letting the MkII go?

What's replaced it?

goes without saying i'd say if your funds can stretch that far give the 5D2 a look, especially as you do a lot of landscape...

IQ is absolutely awesome and the much higher ISO really does make life a little easier...

Strange really, I shouldn't feel good, but what made me so was reading all the tributes to Henry Cooper on the BBC website. Not those by the so-called great and good, but those by ordinary people with ordinary lives that the man himself had touched when they had met him.

I had the great good fortune to spend a few minutes with him at Brands Hatch, back in the days when the BTCC was a major event in the motor racing calender. He was doing some corporate hospitality work for a vehicle manufacturer, I was just working.

God bless 'Enery R.I.P.
