Oh deary dear,,,,,,,
i ask for help and guidance over a very irritating issue,,and what do i get,,,,,,infantile reference to a very lucky and undeserved hollow victory,,we may have got beated by 3 goals to nil,but we played by far the better football, not only that,we were very unlucky not to score on at least 68 occasions !!!!

Actualy,we were C R A P and DC played very well indeed, fully deserved the win,and good luck to them, !!!!!

On this particular Bigma, there is no mf/af switch anywhere on the lens at all,and i,m now stuck as to what to do next, money well spent !

No MF/AF switch on mine, just the converter lock switch, which locks it at 100mm when using a converter. Using the switch by the lens release button you can put it into manual or auto.  ;D

Now i,m going to seem really thick,.,,which switch by the lens release button,,,there does not seem to be one ???

Thanks

I think Old Boy is referring to the switch on the camera next to the lens release button. The bigma does not have an auto/manual switch on it. Sorry to hear about your team loosing 3-0. Ian

The Canon fit version of the Bigma has a AF/M focus switch next to the lens mount, as mine does.

The Nikon fit version I haven't a clue though.  ???

Now then, thanks OB,,,yahhhh,,,,the fold out sheet that came with this lens says there is a mf/af switch, which there is not,,,i was meaning on the lens,
i cannot get any sort of AF response at all,,,,regardless of camera settings, yet,it fires everytime in manual and every shot is way out of focus,,,the focusing ring is making absolutely no difference at all,,
feel like chucking it in the bloody canal now,,,,,

As for SWFC,,,,,more mid table mediocrity awaits, plus,we have dracula at centre half(frightened of crosses)

Thanks to all

I once had a Sigma 24-70 which you had to push the barrel backwards & forwards as a switch. Can't say any more my Bigma is a Canon Fit like Micks and the swich is on the side.

Well, in that case Bill it looks like the F number switch is set on other than F22. The dial goes from F4 to F22 but to get auto-focus it has to be set to F22. Push the button up, towards the main lens length, and move the dial to F22 and lock it by moving the switch back towards the camera body. It should now work in auto-focus.  ;D

Simple

The Bigma DG HSM D has only the lock button for focal length as Oldboy explained in the NIKON version. The Aperture ring has to be at F22 otherwise it will not work. The camera will show you on display flashing fEE when in any other aperture instead of Shutter speed and Aperture.

At the base of the lens, next to the contacts, is the aperture ring and the lock is just past the F4.  ;D
