Would you change your current body, and why?
« on: December 04, 2007, 02:56:38 PM »
For me, yes and, er, no.

I love the handling of the 5D, the intuitive controls that fall to hand so easily, the solid build for an entry level camera - all of which mean no.

But, I also like the new features of the A700, including the high iso performance, so, yes!

Any takers on this point?

Errrmm
No.
Not in the near future anyway. I only picked up a DSLR for the first time just over 12 months ago, so I am still getting used to using the D50.

5D an entry level cam ? I thought it was for the more proficient user ?

So true Alf, it is indeed for the proficient. Love my Minolta 5D, not like that Canon upstart that pinched its name!  >:(

I still use my trusted old Nikon D70. I am tempted to invest in the new Nikon D300 although I will wait for a while till firmware has been updated. I just bought a Nikon F-801 (film)for £60. that was an expensive camera when it came out. :-*

God yes, I'd go for a more athletic and much much younger body.

Oh...you meant camera bodies, didn't you?!  ::) :-[ :2funny: :-X

In that, case, it'd be no...can't afford it right now and still haven't completely outgrown the one I have. Still, it'd be nice to have one with a much greater dynamic range (32 bit per pixel raw format?).

Yes, but for no good purpose, My D50 is an excellent camera and I'm more than happy with it. I have the same issue with nice watches. If I had the money I'd probably buy on of each.
And more, much more than this, I did it my way
