As I said before, I'd never poach from a genuine pro who was trying to make a living and had to charge a reasonable amount in order to do so. I also spent years at Ch and open shows watching the pros - the results you saw of their kennel visits in the magazine annuals were often fantastic. This is smaller scale and the rewards a lot less! I do feel there is a potential market there but, as you're dealing with the same people a lot of the time, you need to come up with something a bit different or a bit special to get them to keep parting with their cash. We do a steady trade in fridge magnets, key rings, bookmarks, notepads, cards etc.which is useful.

Strikes me, if anyone's poaching it's him. It's been your turf for 40 yrs. As for Pro, you sold stuff? Your a Pro, get some business cards printed up and hand them out. Tell him to go P_ss up a rope. Just MHO.

Sue fwiw I don't think you have any thing to worry about. You are doing your bit primarily for the charity you have been present at these shows for a lot longer than him and by the sounds of it your much better at it than him. I know it isn't as black and white as that but it seems that he's somehow come across the idea to attend the shows and set himself up as the photographer and if the quality of his shots aren't as good as yours, (he will no doubt check yours out ) he'll eventually slink off into the night to try his hand elsewhere
