Excellent Customer Service from Vanguard (Tripods)

Just over two years ago I bought a cheap Vanguard tripod from a dealer selling via Amazon. My first using a camera plate, it was some time before I worried that the plate wasn't held very securely and fixed it by adding a paper "shim". So only when it got loose again did I discover that it was in fact faulty - the pivot screw for the clamp could not be tightened. I thought I might attempt an engineering job on it myself, but on checking the Vanguard web site discovered their tripods have a five year warranty.

After an exchange of emails Vanguard asked me to send the complete tripod to them. They confirmed it was faulty and said they would replace the head and return it. But they then found they couldn't do so immediately because they were in the middle of a factory move. So they ordered a brand new tripod from Amazon to be delivered direct to me. (The man actually used his own personal credit card to do this.) I recieved it today, and it appears to be a slightly updated and improved version of my old one.

That is a good customer story.  I have a Vanguard myself.
