Oops. Sorry.

Try this: http://www.outletphotography.com/nikon-d7000-back-focus-fix/

The lens I use is: 55-300mm VR F4.5-5.6G ED AF-S DX NIKKOR SWM

I find the sigma doesn't do well on this camera

Thanks Beryl. Yes been looking at that one recently. I`m beginning to think some of the issues are me using big apertures and half depressing and recomposing. If the plane is just off it can have hu=ge effects at f1.4 - f2.8 I find. I`m going to do a full test next week and use the D7000 more when I put my D700 in for a service soon.

I'm sure that the main manufactuers are the same as my Pentax - it is possible to store an focus adjustment for each lens that is automatically recalled when the lens is attached. Some time ago I made myself this:

and set about calibrating my various lenses on my two camera bodies. It seems to have worked  ;)

Yes same for d7000 and Nikon generally.  Odd thing is when I test with ruler / grid sheet it seems OK but in real world I get the odd failure and yet rarely miss with d700. Stopped using it again at weekend when it failed to focus with the Nikon 85 mm lns at f1.8. Might be me but this week I test / micro adjust every lens.

Try buying or look at it before you buy NPhoto magazine . It has quit a lot of info and you can go on line and ask questions . It also has a  tutorial disc in each issue with 8 to nine  tutorials.

I have it on subscription  very interesting for the Nikon user

Yes I`ve taken that on on and off for a while Beryl. Like all magazines they can get repetitive after a while but better than most.
