in recent months, maybe.

I seem to recall (back in the day after the exodus from PhotoRadar days) a vote with 30 something.

But many of those members, while stilled listed, haven't been here for ages & for a variety of reasons.

Some have turned pro, some have had changes in work, family or health that impact the ability to keep up with a forum - and some have just reached as far as they want to go with photography.
The enormous excitement generated by the switch to digital from film was the same as the discovery of the internet, Facebook and other such aspects of computing.

The need for forums is reducing - but if you look at those that have appeared in the last few years - most have fallen as quickly as they appeared.
It is what makes the need to keep this one going even more important - because it is pretty much troll free.
1 body, 1 lens, 1 flash gun, 1 tripod, 1 cable release & 1 filter. Keeping it simple!
(I lied, just got a second lens!)

Forums will become more popular again. (perhaps not this one) but I'm sure it'll happen.  ;)

The big 'turn off' for those that are not interested in the competition side of the forum is repeatedly being urged to vote.

Why?

Does it not occur to the participants that if their pictures are of sufficient quality they will attract the attention of those floating voters that ignore their pleas.

After all, you are not continually bombarded with requests for people to look at the galleries. Just because competition images are just that, images that are supposedly taken to a brief, they shouldn't necessarily be of interest to anyone other than the competition entrants.

Give us a break! ::)

Congratulations to the three high scorers, and especially Andrew for getting in first!

Thanks for the votes I got - very generous :)

Now to editing the 'power' shots I took this morning.
