The old theory that "a stranger is a friend you haven't met yet" comes to mind. I assume it would be OK to talk to a stranger, introduce yourself and ask their name before taking the photo. This challenge might make some new friends.

I don't know any strangers. Though at times my kids are pretty strange.  :legit:

I'm happy with someone you 'didn't' know and do now!

ABERS

In Greece a stranger is someone sent by God, hence the wonderful hospitality there. I wonder if the Romanians and Bulgarians know it doesn't quite work like that here.  ::)

Maybe a look at

will give you some ideas about photographing strangers. Attended a presentation by Dave Mason last evening, great fun, great photography!

Not sure if I`ll get out much for a shot - so miserable the weather here and lots on still.

Some nice stuff there Abers but a bit too "Martin Parr" for me at times.

Managed to shoot quite a few strangers; will be a bit of a problem, to choose the right one for the competition.

I went with a friend to our local market today and have a number of people images as well, but not one really leaps out and says 'enter me...'.

See if you can crop one, to shift the emphasis, maybe there is a face in the crowd with a peculiar expression? Markets are normally full of opportunities and interesting faces. Just scrutinise the shots, and see what you may have overlooked at first glance.

I had one singled out for entry ( a crop from a wider, less interesting image), but yesterday took one that would give me a great title. Haven't edited it yet, so haven't seen the end result.

Anyone else having rude thoughts?  :)

Had quite a wide choice this week.

I went with this one:

No Pressure

But also considered the 'Bus stop.'

And this

Stranger on the shore
