Love the sound of this. Have some time off this week for my birthday so will try to get an entry. Not had much time recently.
I love nighttime photography and the results.  :)
May the Force be with you.

1 body, 1 lens, 1 flash gun, 1 tripod, 1 cable release & 1 filter. Keeping it simple!
(I lied, just got a second lens!)

Jinky, does the shot need to be of lights?  Or could it be a creative use of lighting at night?  For example, lighting up a tree with gels (with the actual lights not in the shot).

jinky

Stretch the brief as wide as you like  Ogga - as far as I see it is still lights and still night so perfectly OK.
Andrew even Bud Lite would work as long as it was a night shot with creative lighting

According to a phone call we got at 6am this morning - I'm likely to be flooded out of my 3rd floor flat tonight, so that might make an interest entry! Hopefully Mick is living in the 'upper echelons' of Manningtree

Sounds like there is some pretty bad weather on the way. Hope you get through it all well.

Local news seems to be talking about floods of '53, don't think it's quite that bad. If it is, tolling of the A14 will be nothing to seeing the Port of Felixstowe under water!  :o

Doesn't sound too good. Fingers crossed for everyone.

It's not too bad here (Northants). Was hoping o get out this evening but its bad enough to keep me indoors. Had a quick attempt the other night. Here's hoping the next few nights are better.
May the Force be with you.

On Sunday I drove from home to Kettering (almost 400 miles) in about six hours. Yesterday I drove back - it took well over twelve extremely tiring hours, twice as much fuel and about 50 extra miles....

I'm not too far from Kettering.
And that's one heck of a drive!

After much deliberation over a couple of poss: entries i have gone for this. Just liked how the railings and dark sky drew you into the picture.

The nearest town is 15 miles, the nearest streetlight more than 5 miles, the nearest road to far and too steep to walk down to in the freezing dark, so I took a few shots of the lights in the sky. I've got this so far, but will have another go tonight if the skies are clear enough.
