thanks for sharing Abers, aren't they fantastic. Just love the firefighters and the train station.
I'm wondering if there are 'rules' for photojournalism (ie in nature you can't remove items etc).

Rule number one, I think, is probably: be there at the right time and the right place. With your camera. And don't be afraid to move in.

Don't know about any rules to be honest. Don't know, you are not supposed to remove items in nature photography. I would not stick to them, unless it was for a competition, where you are told not to 'touch' anything.

Rules are there to be broken, otherwise we will all get stuck in the same place with the same photographs.

Thanks for sharing Alan. Great shots, which tell me I am not a street photographer! Yet.

If there are any rules then I'm not sure what they are. The only one that would apply as far as I'm concerned is, 'It must tell a story'. There are 1000's of 'street' images that are just that, images of streets with people.

A fellow club member has what I think is a particular bent for the genre and one of my favourites of his work is

I congratulated him on it and being honest he admitted he hadn't spotted the boy until he looked at it when he got home. So perhaps that indicates that luck sometimes plays a part along with an eye for the unusual juxtaposition.

An Elliot Erwitt if ever I saw one!

Like both Alan. My friend is very good at that sort of thing too, and I am trying to 'see' things that others might miss, with his help. My poor eyesight rather limits me, as I do not see things when they are at any distance.
Sometimes I only spot something when I walk past. I then have to go back and saunter past nonchalantly, while trying to get the shot.

This is one I did recently
