Hot Off the Front Page.
« on: April 01, 2012, 08:21:46 AM »
Black and White photography is by far the most popular genre amongst those that are involved with the pastime. A sudden upsurge in it's popularity has lead camera manufacturers to concentrate their R&D departments on developing a new system where the sensor will not recognise any subject that will not make a good B&W picture. Flowers, family portraits (including pets), fairground scenes, awkwardly posed models, birds and animals in trees and bushes and scenes badly lit by multi purpose lighting equipment will fail to register through the viewfinder.

The newly developed cameras are expected to appear early next year, with the Focus exhibition at Birmingham being the target launch date. They will carry a substantial price premium which will attract those that set great store by cost over quality

Adobe have agreed to cooperate in this new venture by removing the Black and White programme indicator when such a subject is posted into the Lightroom5 Develop mode.

An industry spokesman commented, "All in all this is a major step forward for photography in as much it will help relieve the frustration levels of those that aspire to Black and White photography and just can't get the hang of it".

Good move- I`ll be buying one. Though I got an email from photobox today that included news of a gadget that can print an image onto your morning toast for that special occasion. A toss up as to which I get really.

Really? That's great, it's just the kind of innovative, pushing the box / thinking outside the envelope thinking the industry needs!

I prefer the "Opportunity Sensing (Cliche weighted) automatic Lenscap - for example, if you get your other half to stand in front of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, in such a way that they appear to be holding it up, the lenscap refuses to release...

Is it an April fool or not?

I like Google maps "Quest" mode, it turns the map into an 8 bit graphic like King's Quest, etc.

Adblock is showing cat photos rather than blocking ads.

WestJet, a Canadian airline, announced "child free" cabins and called it Kids Kargo.  They produced a video and everything.
