I'm probably going on the sunday - but later in the day as I have a shoot to do in the morning - a christmas prezzy from my parents.

It's a 250 mile round trip that turns out to be like Groundhog Day. After three visits I think I've had enough. ;)

I know what you mean, It's only a pleasant train trip( ???) down the road for me, and as it turns out I'll still be "On the sick" with my hurty finger, so I'll probably be grateful for a day out.

You could always set up a table just outside the entrance to sell all that flash equipment paraphernalia! :legit:

Not made my mind up which day I'm going. Last couple of years I've taken the 70-200mm andf managed to grab a few competition winners from the selection of models.

I usually learn something new from a few talks too.

Given the time frame, i won't be going.

Mrs B is not prepared to enjoy a ride to the NEC and look at something that totally bores her.

Petrol money will be better spent on more productive activities

So! Who went and was it worth it?

I went on Monday and thought it was quite busy. I started out with a plan of who's stands I wanted to visit, 35 seconds in abandoned the plan and just wanderd aimlessly.
Stumbled on a stand where a "Model" was strutting her funky stuff on a catwalk thing, the sight of middle aged men, three deep, trying to get snaps made me laugh so hard I'm afraid a bit of wee came out!
I did glance Jonathan out of the corner of my eye, but I'd just been on the Veiwfinder Photography stand and as a concequence was trying to make my way to an exit whilst draging a fully laden pallet truck so was not able to stop and say hello.
                   Graham.  :)

I went on Tuesday and was disappointed. Too much photo finishing and Studio Flash / equipment. Olympus seemed to be launching their latest OM -E5 With almost no stock - using guest speakers and celebs to try to hold an audience.  They seem to have lost the plot pushing their better offerings out of most peoples price range. If anything they have done Panasonic a huge favour as that is where 4/3 fans are likely to look for their next reasonably priced camera.

Based on this year I am likely to give it a miss next year

Highlight of my day - Coffee with Jonathan.

Went on Tuesday, thought it was the quietest? I have ever seen it. I enjoyed all the different wedding book makers and some of the prints, Couldn't believe Kodak had a huge stand while Kodak US has filed for Chapter11. Mind you £4.6k for a little print/screen kiosk as you see in Boots no wonder nobody buys their stuff.
In general I found it very much the same as all the years before. Loved all the blokes making pictures of the models and listened at some seminars. One rather young fellow was telling everybody that the glass in front of the camera makes no difference and that a kit lens makes as good a picture as an expensive fast lens. Did not stop to listen further, but whatever he is selling must be good to do that!
