I don't think they're too bad. Some of them are quite striking.

I think that they are all perfectly valid. And a few of them are more effective colourised. Add to that the work seems to have been done with great skill and sensitivity; all in all impressive and worth doing.

some of them amaze me that they were B&W originally and turned to colour rather than the other way around

I nagree some gain with colour. Interesting to see the comments re: Dorothy Counts picture. I wonder if without the background they would make those observations of al around her mocking her. Havin g shot images of school / youth group events it is not too different from some of my reject shots were kids other than the subject were messing around and playing to the camrea. The American dream image says much more about Black Americans to me. Some great images there whether B&W or colour and nice to see them featured again in this exercise.
