Pier St Annes Last One I Promise :) PPd and Original Shot

I didnt know where to put this if theres a better section, its really about PPing

The pier at St Annes with Matt and Darrell, a closer view of the pier, 15 mins before sunset, I did quite a lot of PP, to recover it, shot in raw.

Ive never done this before, Im posting both my finished image and the original shot, 

Scared now for the feed back, did I go overboard :lol: be honest I can take it, I wont

I suppose it depends if you were going for naturalistic or stylised  It's certainly made something very striking - can't offer a crit because I would'nt have any idea how to do it differently - do like it though!

PP works well - I like the result. That is, except for the light patch in front which looks very artificial - but not really a dealbreaker! Oh, and a slight halo at the left end of the structure

Without a doubt, you've demonstrated how to turn 'a photo' into an 'image'

I very much like what you've done - doubtless we could all make a few adjustments to suit our personal taste - but i think if you're happy with it, why change anything.

 Anyway, the pic. Yes, I quite like the effect and if it were mine I'd no doubt print it and put it on a wall.
But I suspect it would'nt stay there for too long. If I'd taken it I would have seen it as a nice high contrast B/W with about a 1/4 of the sand cropped out
to elongate the pic a bit.

And there was I thinking  that PP stood for 'post production'. Anyway it doesn't really matter, it's just stuff you do after you've squeezed the shutter release, thrown the band out of the recording studio or handed your movie to the CGI boys . .
