That qualifies on two counts - not smiling and the 'pictures of people with craggy lined faces' essential - for those who normally choose colour it would also qualify for the 'I thought this would look in b/w' category [often, for many of us, this means we got the colours completely wrong!]

LOL! How true is that! And I'm the first to put my hand up to admit I don't always plan my B/Ws! Here's a recent one - I knew it would be B/W (for a change - I'm getting there with planning!) but didn't realise how hi-key it would be (and I guess this could qualify for my hi-key shot!) (Canon 7D, Sigma 150-500 OS)

Whilst I'd be the first to acknowledge that macros aren't for everyone - but if you do them you have to have some sort of fungi at some time (maybe this should be in 'essentials - part 2'  ) - this one taken a couple of days ago (now we're really getting into fungi season) (Canon 7D, Sigma 105)
