Worldwide Photo Walk 2011
« on: August 03, 2011, 07:02:48 AM »
This years Worldwide Photo Walk has just been announced as being on the 1st or 2nd October.

There are already several locations open for registration. I am just finalising mine in Spain on the Costa Blanca so anyone down this way on a late holiday is welcome to join.

More information here.

I went on last years and met up with Martin (aka Minky Monkey) tbh although it was nice to meet up with Martin and we ourselves had a good day out, I don't think I got much out of it, I think I would have got just as much out of the day by going for a walk with Martin along the river at Richmond and just stopping to take photos....I do get the mass appeal though, maybe I'll try a different walk this year however the Costa Blanca as appealing as it might be is just a tad to far  ;)

The chap that runs the Stage 1 group in our club organises a 'Walkbout' every Thurday evening in the Richmond area during the club close season. The purpose is to encourage newcomers to see that there are pictures around every corner and secondly that there are some delightful little pubs off the beaten track.

I am never very comfortable when out with the camera in groups larger than one. Everyone seems to come back with pictures that are reasonably similar. On a recent club group outing to the city I took note of the general direction being taken and set a course 180 degrees in the opposite direction.:legit:
I made sure that the evening rendezvous was reached however.

On the whole I regard going out to take photos a solitary exercise and always head off in the opposite direction if I spot someone else with a camera.   8)
