Well, I finally am an official DSLR rookie!  :2funny: I bit the bullet and bought this one last weekend. I bought this particular one cause it was the best for the price in my area...$500 US. All of the reviews state that it is a good entry-level camera which is what I was looking for. I'll be eating bread and water for awhile, though.  :D

It came with a AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR kit. I'll eventually get a macro and zoom lenses as that is what I like to do...taking macros and pics of wildlife. I just have to get used to it and remember to reset the settings BEFORE taking more pics.  :uglystupid2:

I also got a cheap UV filter to help protect the lens. I'll get other filters later.

Thanks, Oldboy. :)

It takes a bit to get used to coming from a point and shoot but I'm learning fast enough. But I now understand a lot more of what I've been reading and was trying to accomplish with my bridge camera that I just could not until now.

LOL! After quite a few years of saving really hard I might be able to afford that. But first I'd have to spend money on some weights to get a bit more muscle.

If you carry my 400mm F2.8 which weighs 6kg, you won't need to do spend any money on gym work! If you need extra weight I could add my tripod which also weighs 6kg.  :2funny: :2funny: :legit:

Carrying around that much as well as what I normally carry in my backpack would definitely require a little more bulk on my part. LOL
