Greetings from Hertfordshire

[Cathus]

Hi,

judging by some of the names I've seen already, a few people will know me from the DC Mag forums.

I'm Garry from North Herts.

When I'm feeling pretentious I like to describe myself as a semi-pro photographer, when I'm not, I'm just a super-keen amateur.  I am interested in all kinds of photography but mainly do sports. I do league football for a sports agency selling to the national press on Saturdays when I'm not in my normal job and most Sundays all year round I do American Football (for which I don't get paid).

I also do occasional weddings & portrait sessions, family & kids mainly.

Recreationally, I like aviation & motorsport, historical re-enaction, people, macro, wildlife, not so keen on landscape stuff though do try my hand from time to time. I'm trying to get into the Strobist stuff too with off-camera flashes. Basically, pretty much anything you can take a photo of.

I'm secretary of our local camera club (which celebrates it's 90th anniversary next year & I swear still has some founder members) and am pushing to bring it into the 21st century & bring the average age range down a bit.

That's me, nice to meet you!

Hi Garry, good to see you made it over here.  Welcome to CC.

Look forward to seeing some of your images, I especially loved those water drop macros you did over at PR, they are outstanding.

thanks for the welcome.

Oldboy are you referring to my size by any chance?

No, it's referring to all the PR people who have joined here in the last couple of months.

[Cathus]

Abers, likewise,

OB, well it will be even bigger now that a 6'3 18-stoner has gone through it!
