The BBC Landward are starting this very interesting project, I've signed up at my local Library for an introductory day out shooting local landscapes and how to take part, the web site says it all much better than I can.

It does look interesting and I like Colin Prior and have attended a couple of his talks.

If you have access to some old photos of your area there is nothing to stop you giving it a try, strangely enough I started doing this some time ago and did a few local streets that I could find on line, its very hard getting the exact same spot that the original was taken from.

Colin Prior also features in the latest Outdoor Photography magazine with some lovely shots of Scotland.

Hi Sandy, Colin's comments are very good he knows his subject very well. We had a good day out but it didn't fully live up to my expectations, I don't suppose local library staff can give expert photographic advice, if they run it again I'm going to suggest they get the local camera club on board to give the demonstrations on the PCs.

I had great fun and enjoyed the day out with like minded people, I learned more about some local history and  have been given permission to take some panorama shots from the top of the winding gear structure at the Mining Museum to replicate a photograph on file  :) should be a good one.

Bob.

Hi Bob

Glad you had a fun day and meet up with fellow liked minded people. I went out Sunday morning to a local park to get autumn colours and it rained the whole time but we all enjoyed it.
