Are they nesting? I've got a blackbird in & out of a conifer i want to trim. If its nest building will i disturb it by trimming, I assume its not sitting on eggs yet but if you guys think it might be let me know & I will wait.

With it being a conifer I would trim it now. They tend to start shooting up further this time of the year.
You may disturb the blackbirds and they may desert the nest building, but, its still early for them to start again either back in your tree or elsewhere.
Try and take a peek at the nest first, and if there are any eggs then leave the tree alone would be my suggestion.

Sorry for this note of caution. But last week's heavy snowfall brought down an egg from a nest near the top of our 30 ft high holly tree (in central Scotland). It had broken, and contained a dead chick which must have filled it completely. Considering just how cold and snowy this winter's been I can't think what the birds were thinking when they conceived it!

Last year at work we had a thrush nesting outdoors in January ..
They deserted the nestand 3 eggs because we had a water leak nearby and there was lots of activity.
