Focus stacking

Link to some free focus stacking software. Kind of like HDR but for focusing instead of tones. As reviewed in AP this week.

I just had a quick go and it didn't really work. It sort of flipped part of the image round and added it to one edge of the result. However, the bit of the image that did work looked pretty good and I could have cropped it out to make something usable. I'm gonna give it another go later, see if I can work out what went wrong.

Oh its not what I'd call user friendly either but then it is freeware.

That's the software Lord V uses, he's done a tutorial here that might help.

Interesting thread, made me think how do astro photographers combine their shots as they combine even more than say 4.
