Things has been very strange for the last 12 months. But hopefully things are looking up and the weather seems a bit more cheerful. So this week I would love to see photos that show FUN. This could be someone having fun or something that you do for fun. It is important that we try to have fun.

Pictures to be taken between now and Sunday 14th March 2021, but if you are struggling this week one from your archive is fine.
Pictures to be posted in the entries thread no later than 23:59 Monday 15th March 2021.
Poll will be up Tuesday 16th March 2021.

Winner to be announced Saturday 20th March 2021.

The Rules for the weekly competition are...

By entering you agree to take responsibility to

Post a topic on the Sunday (or sooner) following your declared win
Create an entries thread
Create a chat thread
Create a poll for that weeks comp and declare the winner on the Saturday
(if for any reason there is a problem and no subject is posted by the winner by Monday night admin will advise second place winner to post the topic asap, do the poll etc)
May the Force be with you.

Chris

Apologies for being a bit lazy, entering not only an old one, but as it seems one that I entered not that long ago for another weekly comp.

My only excuse is that my camera club has had some serious problems with our Clikpic website. So much so that I have spend a lot of the past three days building a replacement site on Webador. FWIW Webador is simply fantastic. We'll be migrating there this week for good.

We certainly did. we're not officially 'live' yet, committees and all that. Still a few blank pages. Have a look - www.eymetphotoclub.webador.com

I think they are missing a trick here - there is a big leap in functionality between the free version and the small business version. I reckon an intermediate package with perhaps just the galleries and slideshows for $3-$4 per month would just fly off the shelves, so to speak.

Tried to look but blocked by Virgin Media who said it`s not a safe site  ??? Never had that happen. Didn`t realise Virgin Media had safety settings for me.

Just tell it to ignore for that site. It's because the site has a 'contact us' form so the moronic algorithms see it as a phising site. I had to talk very firmly to malwarebytes too. It did the same thing to the Clikpic site we used to have as well.

I`ve had to request that it be allowed as there is no way of adjusting for that one site. Their protection is either on or off and you have to message them to block or remove blocks on individual websites. Crazy.

Hinfrance

Try on your phone or tablet. The mobile implementation is really good. Although if you are with Virgin that maybe that won't work either.

Worked on mobile 4g even though Virgin Media  :2funny:. Looks like you play a very active role there. Good luck with it.

Glad you were able to look at it. I put in a review request for our site with the people who run Virgin's blocklist - F-Secure, we'll see what happens.

At the moment, what with C19 restrictions John and I practically run the club. He hosts all the Zoom meetings, I do the website and competitions. We really want to keep it going until our jailers decide we've been good enough for long enough to be released on parole.

It took me probably about 8 hours in total to make the site. The Clikpic site we had before took our previous web bloke, who was already running some other society web sites, the better part of 2 months to get stable. And I use stable loosely. I won't go into details but it's flaky to say the least.

Really can't recommend Webador highly enough at this point. We'll see how it goes in the future.

Just had a reply from the company that runs Virgin Media black lists. They have now marked eymetphotoclub.webador.com as safe. So when the system works through it should be possible for you Paul to access the site from your main browser.
