This poll should not have been set up yet as it should include the winner from Edible as the pictures for that were to be taken up to and including the 30 August.

Dave.......Well it would have been nice of someone to tell me & seeing as it`s now the first of the month and we haven`t even finished (I,E Winner) the Edible comp????????? I also received word that it was down to me to set up this poll because i was the winner of the last weekly comp for the month. If i hadn`t have received that email i would`nt even have know.
I think there is a serious lack of comunication somewhere??????????????????????? >:( >:( >:( >:(

Oh! & since when do you get six weeks in a month??? Multiple colours is from july & you set up the original thread??????>:( >:(

In Damondph defence.  :-[ :-[

I think this may have been my error.

I took it that the monthly comp poll was to be set up after the last weekly comp voting for images in the month, which was last weekend - comp Minimalism. I read through the thread and noticed that it had been decided  that the winner of this week was to set up the poll as per quote below.

I agree so who ever wins this week ( The last of the month ) will have to set up the poll :legit:

As it was damondph first entry and subsiquent win, I felt obliged to let him know he was to set up the monthly poll.

I think it makes more sense to say that the last voting in the month should signify the end of the month otherwise we will all get confused, as has already happend.

Sorry if I have messed this up but only felt I was doing the right thing.   :legit:

Guy1970, Thanks for your support. I dont think you should shoulder the blame for this as you were only doing what you thought to be right & in your position, i would have done the same. Like you said, this was my first time at entering the comps & as expected i`m a bit green with the rules & regs, so for someone like yourself to help my along the way is greatly appreciated.

I think this whole buisness is the result of a lack of information & poor communication.  :(

Thankyou for your support :-\

oRGie

I have added a poll to the entries thread for edible, so get voting :)

Dont stress about the monthy comp, its the first one, imho we should just leave it as is for this month as voting has been going on and next month we will add edible to September poll, from then on we should imho include the comps with the pic taken during that month, that seems the least complicated to me lol :)

For the monthly comp I think Dave or a mod should set that up each month, because anyone new joining in may have trouble following whats going on :)

Sorry to hear of your problems Dave, certainly sounds like a bad day !

Seems sensible to leave it as it is, Edible is not finished yet so include it in this months (sept) comp, every thing is set up and running for august. It looks like simple misunderstanding that I would have fallen into so lets not fall out over it guys.
Good luck all.

Absolutely.  Not worth falling out over.

Sorry guys, I should have picked up on this when edited some code on the poll.  So not Damond's fault, blame me. ;)  Is everything sorted out now?

Dave, hope the wife is OK, and you get the other problems sorted.   Damond, I'm having a bad day too, first one back to work and all that.  :(

Firstly, sorry for all the confusion and complications today. My wife seems to be improving she is sat up in bed considering whether to have some toast ( I think see wants me to make it ) I wont tell you all the details ( Out of both ends should be enough ) My cat ( Fred ) arrived home at about 10.00 pm looking really rough I think he must of been locked in a shed or garage, anyway he's home, fed and asleep. As for the computer ?  well I bought a new laptop on saturday which unfortunately has ( VISTA ) installed. I tried getting it to work through my Orange Live Box and then allsorts of complications happened. When I was on the site this morning trying to set up the weekly poll on my desktop computer it kept freezing. Anyway I spoke to someone who knows more about computers than I ever will and after 1 and a half hours we had the new laptop working on My Vodaphone 3G card which I only usually use to send football pictures to papers. Then reset the Live Box which is why I can now write this.
To any of you in the know, my computer friend said that the new ( Windows 7 ) out next month is great and is basically an upgrade of XP. Apparently my new laptop qualifies for a free upgrade to ( Windows 7 ). Thanks to all who helped today and asked about my wife....Dave :legit:

Glad things sound on the up Dave - amazing how on some days everything conspires against you isn`t it! Kick you whilst you are down syndrome I suppose. Still things can only get better - although Labour will be looking for a different song next election I guess ( maybe the Quo doing Down, Down Deeper and Down  ;)

Mick

Dave, glad things are on the mend so to speak.  ;)

I've also got a free upgrade to windows 7, it's going to cost me about £12 pounds to have it shipped over though.   Also the UK version of the upgrade comes as a stand alone install only and not as a upgrade version to vista.  In other words it'll format your PC and you'll have to re-install all your stuff.

Had no problems connecting my vista PC to my livebox, but I have a wired connection.  Our daughter laptop running vista was a different story though, that took me ages to work out how to connect that via wireless.  I couldn't get the wep code right for some reason, and forgot to press the pairing button on the side of the livebox.  Works well now though. (touches wood)  ;)
