Canon 35-350 L lens

Ok, posted in shout as I thought I may get a response there, anyway looking for some feed back from someone who has one.
You can read all the guff but a hands on opinion is the best. Thought I would go down the one lens shoots all route for when I go to motor meets, car shows, drag racing etc: as I get fed up carrying and changing 2or 3 lenses.
Any thoughts, I know that it may not be pin sharp at full 350 but believe that this is a great lens.
