ACR update!

So I've got my new computer, and I've installed CS5 and now need to update to the latest version, particularly ACR.
I'm doing the Help--Update thing, it confirms updates available, starts update then flashes an instruction "Please close the following applications to continue."
And lists "Adobe bridge CS5 (Bridge.exe).
I close Bridge and click continue, but the message keeps re-appearing!
I've been onto Adobe's site to try downloading and installing manually, but I end up with the same warning!  :knuppel2:
   Anyone any clues?
                         Graham.   :(

Just a thought.
Are you sure that bridge exe. has actually closed before you clicked continue?
Close it then look in task manager to ensure it has actually shut down.

Thanks. I'll have a look. I'm backing up all my pics at the moment...this could take a little while! :)

Bridge runs on the task bar even when shut down. Just close it from there and all will be grand

Thanks for the suggestions but no, it's not showing on the task bar.
Nor does it show as being open on Task Manager, the only thing open is Adobe Application Manager. The updates download ok, I then get the message as the installation starts.
                Any other ideas folks?
                                        Graham.  ???

Did you check on the processes tab?  It would not show on the main applications tab.

Don, Mick, mwa mwa, I love you both... I'm on my way to give you both a big old manhug!

It was buried deep inside the processes tab of task manager, I now have all my functionality back (Apart from that between the ears obviously.)

Oh and Mick. I did try Google, honestly, I just didn't get to the bit where the treasure lay!

Glad it's sorted Graham, the clue was in my third link (Adobe Known issue) If I remember correctly, but Don had it covered.
