Windows live movie maker and windows dvd maker

Anyone used these to make a little slideshow? Did a wedding last week and have all the images and thought I`d thow in a little bonus slideshow. No pressure as it`s an extra so thought I`d try usin g the windows movie maker and see what it`s like. Been testing out transitions / music etc and it seems to do the same job as my old slideshow maker but can anyone advise on best image size / resolution to use to get best playback appearance when viewing dvd on tv playback. Read a few contradictory posts elsewhere about image sizes and not sure how much time to put into it and son1`t want outcome to detract from my images.
Sorry not been active anywhere again - just been having little nreaks with my newly retired wife (early retired she keeps saying I have to say) and one or two paid jobs but little else done.

I use Opus Pro for slide shows and creation of Flash equivalent mouse over shows (although rather rusty I'm afraid, as I have not done one in the last couple of years) - so it would be trial and error for me too Paul. That said, if you edit images and save as .png files (rather than .jpg) there is the added ability to take full advantage of visual Transparency, layering images over each other with the transparency efficiency of traditional film slideshows. 

Large image files will take time to load and may slow the transition process depending upon available live memory of equipment as you put the project together; and play back on PC / DVD etc., depending upon the save format chosen (that may also reduce image quality automatically in the save as'?' file option, with the various options available you set for that process)

In the end I thought what the hell and saved pictures the size I do then for here, did an auto movie mode with auto pa / transitions and burned to CD. Took me no more than 20 minutes from photo selection to burning cd. Great stuff
and I`ll be using that programme again.
