Lens hood question

Hi everyone, I'm still a total beginner so excuse the probably simple question,

I need to buy a lens hood, and am not entirely sure if  I should go with a tulip shaped one or a plain circular one, and what length of hood I should be looking at.

I'm using two lenses, the kit lens 18-55mm and another 55 -250mm lens.

Any advice?

You have to choose the hood type for your lenses. If you check your lenses on the web it should show what hood is required. For the Canon 55-250mm lens Canon ET 60 Lens Hood, For the 18-55mm lens EW-60C lens hood.
