PC Help required

Hoping you guys can help.

I have a 3rd pc which I run 24/7 collecting and sending AIS data to various shipping sites.

Yesterday the 350W  PSU jacked in so I have just fitted a new one.
After a little bit of messing about and changing cables around, I have the pc up and running.
But, the cd/dvd drive will not play anything (power light is on)
The floppy drive (yup floppy) is the same

As you can tell the pC is v-old so was unable to get an exact copy of the PSU but I have got something similar apart from some data on the side re amps/volts. This is something where Im lost on, but below is the data
the old one has written on case
5v     3.3v    +12v    -12v    -5v      +5vsb
21a   12a     16a      0.8a    0.5a      2a


the new one has
dc output
+5v   +12v   -5v    -12v   +3.3v   +5.5vsb  +5v& +3.3
27a  10a      0.5a  0.8a    20a      2a          201w

My thinking is I need to change something in bios for the respective drives but Ive looked in there and nothing sticks out as obvious.
The only other difference between the units is the old one also had a power outlet for the monitor but Ive put a mains cable to that now

Any ideas guys ?

Should be ok I would have thought.

A silly question though, you have checked the IDE cable that connect the drives to the motherboard?  

You might have partly dislodged one of them when you were tinkering with the power cable.  Also if memory serves me correctly,  if you have the drive jumpers set to cable select, then you have to have the drives connected to the right plugs if they are sharing a cable.  (For example, if you have the hard drive and the DVD drive sharing the same IDE cable). 

Oh, and make sure if you removed the IDE cable from the DVD drive, that you have fitted it back in the right way around. Some cable will go in both ways, but will only work one way.   Does sound like a IDE cable problem, as the drive light will still come on even if the drive isn't connected to the motherboard.

I took some photos before I disconnected everything and as far as I can see its back as was, but i qill do some selective unplugging etc again

The 12v output is the only difference may be insufficient output.

IDE connections are probably the problem, when the psu went it may have taken the drive with it or maybe the drive failing is what took out the psu.

Ive tried all combo of cables/slots and all I get from both drives is a power light on and the drawer opens.
I guess Colin is right or I have fried something during the instalation of the PSU
At least the hard drive looks to be behaving ok and I have an external DVD writer presently attached which will bo ok for backing up/re-installs

As a last resort go into control panel, Device Manager, Click on the plus sign for the DVD/CD Rom drive, Right click on the drive and select disable. Select it again and select enable. If this works then do the same with the floppy drive else, if it doesn't show at all then from control panel select install new device and see if that works.
