Hi Alf,
This is a Wheatear. denanthe denantheThis one is a male.
Nests between April and July normally in a hole in a wall or in the ground.
It is a summer migrant that arrives in Britain and Ireland between March and May.
There are approximately 55.000 pairs breeding inBritain and 13.000 in Ireland.

Well spotted mate! :)

Thanks for that Simon. I could not id it via the tool on the rspb site.
I will be popping back down to the estuary soon and see if I can get a better shot of him and maybe the mate.

The second could be a Turnstone but not enough detail to tell the first.  ???

Moses

Right, lets have a go and ruin any street cred I had ;)
No 2 is a Juv Turnstone
No1 looks very interesting, shame its only a partial shot, but could be a female ruff in spring colours but theres a slim chance of it being a purple sandpiper...... :)
