okey dokey - I'll have another look in a few days.

Thanks Irv - I would really appreciate a few degrees more. We don't expect to have temperatures in the 30s, bu I actually had a little earache this afternoon from the cold winds along Constantine Beach. Still there were about 10 surfers braving it. Even with wet suits they looked chilled.

Not long to go now!

Weather`s abit up and down by the look of the accuweather site.

a diet of pasties and real cream teas - oh and Cornish ice cream to fill in the gaps.

Sorry to advise, but the ladies figures will be absolutely crushed by the end of the weekend  :2funny:

What about the men's figures then ??

Been here just over a week already and just had the first pasties (well one each) this evening for tea. Had one cream tea so far too. Hubby's being going to town on the cooking though - I have certainly put on a few ounces.

The weather has picked up no end today. The wind is cool but the sun is shining and the skies are blue. Went on a two hour walk this afternoon, just gorgeous!

Something else - do any of you guys use any kind of sensor cleaner ? I have a blob (yet again  >:( ) although I have actually only changed my lense twice since arriving here, and then I was inside. I'm still really nervous about cleaning the sensor myself, and I thought if any of you have one of the cleaning gadgets you could maybe show me how it works.
I was in a camera shop in Truro last week (Cornwall Cameras) and was advised not to do anything myself. They didn't even stock anything. I was already unsure with my D80 and now I'm even worse  :-[

Anyway, will have to load up a couple of pics from today (blobs removed) and show you what's awaiting you

the old sensor issue again.

There is no doubt that the sensor is the most important part of your camera - but it's not so delicate that it can't be cleaned a bit.
Most of the time i just use a rocket blower and it works fine.

I've recently bought myself a lensbaby sensor pen. Haven't had a need to use it yet, but i think it shows i'm not afraid to use something when needed...

Eileen

Cream teas, Cornwall, and good company - can't wait!

The weather does seem to be improving a little - here's hoping.

Good luck with the sensor cleaning Carol. I'm a wimp about these things. About once a year when there are too many spots to ignore I hand the camera over to a shop where they make it as good as new. For £30 a year I'm happy to let them take over the task. I know that I could do it myself and probably will someday but am happy with the current arrangement for now.

Sandy

Looking forward to the weekend. I have just looked at trainline and there appears to be a train that gets into Redhill at either 0908 or 0954. I think the later train I do not need to change at Paddock Wood. I hope not to read the timetable wrong this time Andrew.
I like cream teas and icecream.

Get a Artic Butterfly and removing spots from the sensor is a piece of cake. The advice given by that camera shop is wrong. Sensors are a lot more robust than they suggest, and a lot of the dust spot problems are not caused by changing lenses, but are produced by the camera themselves. Think of gear wheels moving around and bits of them flying off as they engage with each other.  ;D

yes the 09:54 arrival sounds the perfect train Sandy.

See you on Friday morning at Redhill. I've also got a booster seat for the Minkey

I wanted to load these photos last night, but the internet disappeared  ::)

This one was taken in Padstow yesterday around midday. It was starting to warm up, but it was still overcast.

We went for a long walk along the west side of the Camel estuary - absolutely incredible views over to Rock.

This one was taken about 1 1/2 hours later. It was no warmer but the sky was blue and there were few clouds around.

Here's a couple of sunset shots I did last week. The conditions are very different to at home :)

I'm using a laptop here and am not used to the tilt of the screen - so I don't know if the photos are too light or too dark, I'm just hoping for the best  ::)

We spent the afternoon in Newquay today. We had been intending going on a hike on the moors, but this morning our car was dead. The battery was actually broken. One of the chaps from the site here came along with the tractor to pull us out to a spot where we could jump start the car, and then we were able to drive to a garage. Went for an hours walk and the car was ready. However it was already after 12, so we decided to give the moors a miss and head off to Newquay. I didn't have my camera with me today, and I shall be really interested to see the photos you guys take - the most interesting sights are the people  :legit:

It's still quite cold, but at least the sun is still shining  8)
