Ugly

Whatever is ugly in YOUR opinion. A building, face, plant, something in nature ..... whatever

Rules:

Pictures to be taken between 00.01am Monday 22nd to Sunday 28th February.
Pictures to be posted in the entries thread no later than 23.59pm Monday 1st March.
Poll will be up Tuesday 2nd March until 23.59pm Friday 5th March.
Winner to be announced Saturday 6th March (winner should post the new topic no later than 23.59 Sunday 7th March).

The Rules for the weekly competition are...

By entering you agree to take responsibility to
post a topic on the Sunday following your declared win
create an entries thread
create a chat thread
create a poll for that weeks comp and declare the winner on the Saturday
(if for any reason there is a problem and no subject is posted by the winner by Monday night admin will advise second place winner to post the topic asap, do the poll etc)

In case of a tie, the first entry posted wins.

photos to be taken during the specified dates, ie sunday xx to Monday xx

pictures to be posted in the entries thread no later than 23.59 Monday night

Poll to be created Tuesday to run till Friday, winner declared Saturday

Editing limits to be specified by the person choosing the competition subject, if nothing is mentioned then there is no limit to editing allowed.

Montage images should only contain images taken within specified dates

Please don't vote for your own entry

Thanks Oldboy - that's what I was intending.

We do tend to photograph things normally which are pleasing to the eye.
Even if something's not so pretty, it can still be interesting 

The lack of comments made me worry for a bit ...... I've not had much experience you know

Carol - I think it's a great topic and since you announced it, I have a card full of ugly pictures.  The trouble is they were all taken at a particular event and I don't want a law suit on my hands!  However, I am working on it and will submit a self-portrait (heavily uglicised of course) if I don't get anything else!

this was a trickey one carol! i decided to go with an alternate view of a plant portrait. we usually see the pretty flowers and leaves. not seed pods....



by way of explaining context: this is some of the tree - it's hanging down and reaches the ground. the background in the close up photo is the red/organge of the rocks in front of the tree.

Do you think i could find some Ugli fruit any where? Not a chance. It's almost like the UK has stopped stocking it!

Even the village of Ugly in Cambridgeshire is off limits due to the weather. It's actually a stunning chocolate box village in appearance - just called Ugly! You just need some blue skies to make the picture work!

Oh well, back to plan C - this god awful ugly weather that has again blighted my plans for the day...

Actually the weather could have been a bit darker for my entry this week. I suppose I could have changed the sky a bit in PS ....

I have no idea what this building is, but it's one of the many derelict buildings in the area. Like a lot of industry, the Offenbach docks are long past their heyday. The figure down by the river is either Neptune or Poseidon, I'm afraid I don't know which one, I suppose I should really ....
