My local camera store chain has a used Nikon 20 mm AF lens for sale, about 180 Pounds equivalent. It gets good reviews online. Anyone here had experience with one? Was going to save up and get a new Sigma 10-20 mm but that's about 400 Pounds equivalent. Had a play with the Sigma, friend let me use his. Was quite impressed.

Not being a Nikon user i can't comment on the lens.
But i've as yet to here something bad said about the 10-20mm!

I have the Nikon AF20 2.8 - it's a fine lens especially at the price point it is. If you want to see an example image, the "Vette" picture a ways back that was IOTW was taken with the 20mm. It's good on the Digital size sensor as well as the full frame that I have.

That was a gorgeous shot. I think I'd be satisfied with that and the savings too ;D

You definitely won't go wrong with this lens. If you were thinking wide angle zoom, though, the Tokina 11-16mm is the best lens out there, outstanding detail, and 2.8 throughout. I did a side by side with the Sigma 10-20mm and there was no comparison, IMHO. Only drawback is, they don't make it for the full frame. On digital sensors, however it performs awesome. Most, if not all of my desert shots I have in my gallery were with that lens.

£180 is a great price for that lens. It sells for just a whisker under £450 new here.  :o

Good luck with your shopping Spin - look forward to seeing the results!  :)
