Quote from: anglefire on June 01, 2026, 03:46:22 PMA bit of an update - loving retirement, loving the cycling (I've done almost 2000miles this year so far) and I've lost a load of weight since I retired. My heaviest I was 16stone (Some time ago and did get down to about 15stone but it just stuck there!) and now I'm down to 12stone. Hopefully will stabilise at that as I do look a little skinny in places now!
I did a charity thing last month for Brain Tumour research - I know of two people that died this year with secondary tumours (One was a result of skin cancer, so be careful out there!) and the other from one of several sources. Also my cousin has a primary brain tumour which he has had chopped out, radiotherapy on and now going through chemotherapy.
The challenge was to do 200k in the Month of May anyway you liked - walk, swim, cycle, run etc. So I completed it on the bike, but had my own challenge of 400miles in the month - mostly because I do 200k a week usually. As it happens I did 547miles or about 880km in May. Longest ride being just over 100k on one of the hottest days of the year - though I left home at 5:15 and was back home at 9:45![]()

), though the cold has curtailed my cycling efforts so far
