Hope you're back to normal soon Spin.

WAMT - second puncture in three days on my bike. The first required a new inner tube, the second I managed to patch the tube, but the tire wall has blown out; so I need a new tyre now.

This is on my new bike. My old bike I have had for two decades and never had a puncture - so I'm guessing that the new lightweight technology is lighter because it's not very robust.

Perhaps it weight that you have gained causing the problem!  :P

Interesting hypothesis :) The only flaw in the argument is that I have only had the new bike for 6 months, and I still ride the old one too - in fact I was out on it last weekend.

Not to say that I am by any measure a slight individual  :-[

Sheer luxury! Two bikes! Is there no downturn/recession where you live?

I know Re, I know. Two bikes in 20 years; there is just no end to my profligacy.

A good, solidly built, bike should last a lifetime!

There is a simple formula in bikey cicles to calculate the number of cycles you need to own:-

                             Cycles required = n+1
n being the number of cycles you already own.

I think that formula applies to just about everything, from beer to aircraft. Excludes wives, obviously :)

Not aircraft surely! A chopper for the daily commute, something slightly larger to take the family out now and again, and something for long distance business (or pleasure?) meetings.

(Mine is the local budget airline by the way, where I occasionally buy a seat.)

"not me" has spilt turpentine in my downstairs laundry and it's now seeped through the house.
Despite washing the floor and opening all the windows the house stinks of turpentine. I've a dull headache and the back of my throat burns. ARRGGHH >:( :'(

Here is a tip given to me when we spilled some paints.
Get some onions and cut them into halves and place them on saucers/dishes at various points around the house.

Onions? Have to give that a try, cheaper than those commercial odour absorbers. :)

Watched the last Dr Who last night whilst I was making tea - so missed a few bits.

Watched it again later on - and fell asleep, so got to watch it again ::)

I do that sort of thing all the time.  Best thing I've bought recently is a Humax PVR9300T Freeview recorder, so I can pause live viewing, or just rewind what I was watching.  No tapes etc, just records to a built in hard drive, so now I just record everything even though I'm watching it, just in case I fall asleep. lol..

My TV watching these days is mainly on my all in one pc. I have a really old TV and when the digital switchover happened I got a very cheap box with recorder off ebay so I could still use it if I wanted. Trouble is, I only get certain channels - all the BBC,all the C4,C5 and a load of rubbish shopping type things - but for some reason I get ITV 1/+1/2/+2 and ITV 3 but no 3+1 or 4 and 4+1 and no Yesterday or Film4. I use TV Catch up online which has all the free channels and is usually better than the ITV player which can be a pain to use. Watch lots on the BBC IPlayer too. Unfortunately Taggart was on Yesterday channel so unless it's repreated or I can find it on YouTube I'll never know  :D
