So, we did the Ikea matrimonial stress test on Saturday. Finally purchased the screws tonight (DIY shops are shut on sundays in NL) to mount the large Ikea mirror in the daughter's room. Unwrapped the mirror and discovered that it was cracked up at the top corner, right behind the protective cardboard. What's particularly annoying is that we paid an additional €29 to get it delivered to avoid breaking it ourselves.

Fresh call to Ikea to get another delivered, and they'll arrange an appointment some time this week/next week. sigh...

Swedish furniture shops you gotta love em  ;) Our kitchen came from Ikea we went to the store, ordered it, paid for it, went to collect it after we had been told it would be ready to collect in 45 minutes....4 HOURS!!!! Later we walked out of the store with nothing except less funds in our bank account, significantly raised blood pressure and a promise they would deliver it free of charge (which to be fair they did) the only thing we really buy from there now is bits and pieces e.g. glasses, plates etc and sometimes kitchen bits if they're on sale.....However I have to disagree with Oldboy I LOVE their meatballs with the lingonberry sauce and a little bit of the cream sauce....and over here their choccy mousse is delish....I do like the apple cake as well but they don't do it in the restaurant anymore....still available in the Swedish Shop though  ;D

Peggy lost her battle against Cancer today, I'm not sure "annoyed" really does my feelings justice, would anyone really mind if I started a "What really Effin Pi$$ed me off big time today" thread?

God bless you Peggy!
Oh Lord, please help me to be the person that my dog thinks I am.

This both annoys and bemuses. My Epson Prints lovely 13"x19" photos. Can I find a 13"x19" frame for them? Not on your life. Can I find a larger frame that mats down to it? Not on your life. Did a try at my own canvas at 13"x19" can I find 11 x 18 stretchers? Not at all.
And more, much more than this, I did it my way

I have a Epson A3+ printer ( or 13" x 19" Prints ) I buy 16" x 20" mounts and resize the print to fit the aperture. 16" x 20" mounts & frames to fit are quite the norm ( Over here anyway ) :legit:

Oh, it's the same here and I've reconsidered my plans and bought 11x14 paper, but it's still odd that a printer company would offer a sizing that doesn't appear to be popular. No doubt there's a specialty framing business that has them, I just haven't found it yet. :)

What about a local independent framer? You may pay a bit more but they'll make to your exact needs.

Or you can make your own frames. It's not that hard if you get the right tools.

Hard part is finding a good glazier that can supply the glass, although you can get plastic sheets from a DIY shop, and cut it up with a saw.

Just read on the local teletext that a 71 year old grandmother has admitted assaulting a teenager after she poked him in the chest for throwing stones at her house. The woman who suffers from osteoporosis was given a conditional discharge and fined £50 for the offence. She admitted assaulting the 17 year old outside her home but said she was "sick of the abuse"

Our society today just sucks doesn't it  >:(
BOOZE!!! Helping ugly people have sex.

From what I read he'd grabbed her wrist - that's not assault obviously ::) That teenager must have felt so big complaining about being assaulted by a 71 year old! Pathetic of the authorities as it just makes them look stupid.
