Chilling place.
|
|
|||
|
We got there very early (Before 8am) so was very quiet with only a few people about. Despite what is often said, the birds do sing, but what was chilling was when we walked over the tracks, you could hear the wagons clanking on the nearby goods yard...........

That must have been really spooky.

The processing brings home the grim nature of the past. Congratulations on IOTW

Thanks for the IOTW! was a bit of a surprise TBH.

Congratulations Anglefire! To be honest it is a surprise to me too, to see such a sobering image on the front page. Well deserved though.

Stark grim image. Off to visit there myself in December feeling everyone should.

Jinky, if you're lucky and find the place devoid of people, it will be even grimmer in a Polish winter!

Yes. Will be real contrast to Chjristmas market etc when we go.

Go early. The coaches arrive from around 10am (Or do in August, not sure about December!) If you are going to the Jewish Museum as well, you have to have a guided tour during the day though can get free to roam tickets between 8 and 10am and 3 and till it closes - or you can in the summer! No picture I have taken gives the right sense of scale of the place............
