Light is fantastic in lighting the scene. A really special shot.

Well done in being able to react to the moment and nice subtle toning. ( I think I would loose the drop shadow though).
roguesgallery   [Nov 15, 2009 at 05:09 PM]
Lovely lighting indeed - and the square crop works well with this mono. Cheers Ian
Tringle WP   [Nov 15, 2009 at 06:19 PM]
There is just something about film that digital can't really get - it's the same with analogue sound recording. Excellent work.
Oldboy   [Nov 15, 2009 at 07:37 PM]
Cracking shot and composition. Very Happy
vxisme   [Nov 15, 2009 at 11:50 PM]
Many thanks folks, appreciated, this is a 6x6 so no cropping needed in this format, i like the drop shadow too, sorry it stays, thanks for the thoughts though. Very Happy

This is just beautiful Donny! The light and contrast work very well in the pro monotone! Love it!
BlueOnBlue   [Nov 16, 2009 at 05:55 AM]

Beautiful light. Grat conversion too. Cheers, Juan.
Jan Hagen   [Nov 16, 2009 at 09:43 AM]
This is dead on and top notch if you ask me. Range of tones, light, b/w conversion and very strong comp, all add up to a wonderful image. Cheers.
vxisme   [Nov 16, 2009 at 10:12 AM]
Many thanks folks,...can i just point out this is not a conversion...its Black and White film, med format.
Wiccy   [Nov 16, 2009 at 10:22 AM]
Wonderful depth to this image, like I could wander right on in. An excellent range of tones, and a serene atmosphere created by the slight morning? mist. I love the square format, which is something I often try to emulate with digital conversions. Beautifully seen, framed and exposed. Smile)

Sorry, Donny, didn't catch that part earlier. Even more impressive! Excuse my very little knowledge on film vs digital - but how do you transfer it to the digital format? Scanning the end paper result? Enlighten me!? Cheers
vxisme   [Nov 16, 2009 at 12:26 PM]
Cheers mate, i send the rolled film away for processing and when negs returned to me i sca them to Tiff files, this one was 85 MB but the coloured ones can be as high as 3 GB, this was scanned at 3200dpi using a Epson V500, then any printing up to A3+ i do myself, so basically its scanned straight from the negative Jan, drop me a email if you want any further info mate, apprecaited as always for the kind words. Donny
