Great shot and well spotted. It looks like a upsidedown rainbow and I've seen one before in print.

Oh dear. Have I doubled it. I didn't think I had . will remove it if I have. I promise you it is not an upside down rainbow. This is exactly as it appeared in the sky.

We had a full halo and parhelia around lunchtime, though I think this is a circumzenithal arc

Yes I think your right. Unfortunately there are lower clouds impairing it's clarity. it arises from refraction of sunlight through horizontally-oriented ice crystals rather than droplets of rain

still a nice capture. photography is as much about 'capturing' the image as 'creating' it and you've done well given the conditions
