Blot on the Thames

Although it is an iconic structure (and I would love to go rummaging around it ) it is in a bad state and something needs to be done.

Nice Pink Floyd refference there Bill Laughing Lovely bit of framing Irv, and a great pic. If I'm not mistaken, if you were to go inside you would find the mother of all film sets!

Yes deffienately gone to the DOGS Irv..LOL. Great shot though of such a famous landmark. The Pink floyd refferences Irv are about an album realeased by them way back in 1977. The title was Animals. one of their classic albums. Very Happy

Isn't there a redevelopment program costing £5.5 billion been considered for this site? Very Happy
Graham   [Nov 12, 2009 at 05:50 AM]
There was a programe on Radio 4 about it beeing used in various films (James Bond and the like) because of it's internal architecture.

It's a nice shot Irv - and it may appear t be a blot, but has has been said - it is in constant use. The redevelopment plan was part of the one that saw all the new flats built on the opposite side of the railway line, and then when the recession came along! But if you look you will see there is a constant detachment of builders working on it now doing foundation stuff ready for a bigger project .

It needs a Tate Modern style takeover just one that contains less rubbish/art (delete as applicable)
