Green Honeycreeper

This lovely bird is a male Green Honeycreeper. Honeycreepers are small members of the Tanager family, almost all brightly coloured. They are quite common in the Northern Range of Trinidad and feed on nectar and small fruits, supplemented sometimes by insects. They often take nectar from blossoms of the Mountain Immortelle tree (aka the Flame Tree - sadly I didn't get a picture of one of these).
