Birthday cards? Flowers always go down well, but for men you should have some 'masculine' images.

Just started to try and put a collection together, cars for the guys I think as it is close to my heart.

Cars and other technical things yes, but maybe also things like books, booze, bottles and glasses. Depending on the image they would also do very well for general purposes.
