Volunteers

I work as a volunteer ranger in Lakeside Country Park in Eastleigh, Hampshire.
The last three weeks we have been busy collecting and burning wood, mainly blackthorn, that 'got in the way.'
Here a few shots of last Wednesday.

Out Blackthorn bush/tree has been cut down in Sandwell Valley, which is a shame, as they produce wonderful flowers in early spring. Sad Great shot.

It's also ideal for nesting and don't forget the fuits! Don't worry though, there is plenty of black thorn left, it tends to spread like wildfire and chokes other species.
