Old Beast

My father's old Zeiss Ikon camera. I took my first photographs with this one in the (late) fifties. Has anyone any idea how old it may be? It was bought in Holland, in the early fifites, possibly second hand. Took brilliant photographs!

What a wonderful thing - you must be so pleased to have kept it, and in such good condition too.

Thanks! It's just 'resting' in the bottom of a cupboard, but I wouldn't get rid of it. I also have the (reflector) flash unit and some of the Philips flash bulbs that were used. The view finder caused constant problems, as no one took photographs often enough, to remember to adjust the camera slightly. Lots of heads were chopped off!

I did come fairly close to the right date soon after I posted it. Cannot remember now when it was manufactured though, I'd have to look it up.
