Ghost of the Bargate

The Bargate is an empty shopping centre, that was going to be demolished and replaced by something better. All the shops are closed, but the escalators still work as the centre is still used to cut 'through' from one street to another and apparently, it is also the only pedestrian entry/exit to a car park.
I was told recently that the 'cut' from one street to the other, is a public right of way, so who knows what is going to happen next.
